Université de Sherbrooke
Workplace: Main Sherbrooke Campus
Université de Sherbrooke invites applications for a Research Chair in the field of religions and modernity. The chairholder will reinforce the existing research activities in this sector and will collaborate with the other priority sectors of research identified in the strategic plan of the department of religious studies.
The

Religions and Late or Post-Modern States. The main objective is to shed
new light on the social activity of religious groups in Canada, and to
refine theoretical models allowing a better understanding of their
involvement in the reconfigured public sphere. This is to be achieved
through a careful theoretical pondering of how religious groups interact
within North American states and take into account their Late or
Post-Modern policies.
DUTIES:
Maintain an outstanding research and
publishing program in Religious Studies; Teach Religious Studies at the
undergraduate and graduate levels; Supervise graduate students doing
research in the area of Religious Studies (M.A. and Ph.D.); Active
