Canada Excellence Research Chairs
The Canada Excellence Research Chairs (CERC) program is a prestigious new research funding program that awards up to $10 million over seven years to each of 20 of the world’s leading university researchers, to support their research activities in Canada. The CERC program supports research in four strategic areas, focusing on sub-priority areas that address issues of global importance and build on research areas where Canada has or should build a competitive advantage. Canada Research Chairs
The Canada Research Chairs Program is designed to attract and retain the best talent at Canadian universities. Canada Research Chairs are chosen from Canada and around the world, helping Canadian universities achieve research excellence in the health sciences, the natural sciences and engineering, and the social sciences and humanities. Since the program’s launch in 2000, chairholders have improved Canada’s reputation as a leader in research excellence, improved the quality of life of Canadians, and strengthened the country’s international competitiveness and graduate training capabilities. Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships
The Government of Canada launched the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) program to strengthen Canada’s ability to attract and retain the world’s top-tier doctoral students. Vanier scholars demonstrate leadership skills and a high standard of scholarly achievement in graduate studies in the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and engineering, and health by offering them a significant financial award to assist them while they study. Scholarship recipients will receive $50,000 each year for up to three years. The program aims to promote the development and application of leading-edge knowledge, support the development of a world-class workforce, and position Canada as a magnet for the world’s top graduate students.
