The Federation's "Renewing Scholarly Infrastructure for the Next Generation" project is an examination of scholarly associations that addresses their role in research infrastructure, intellectual agency, research dissemination and the development of new scholars.
Prepared with assistance from a pan-Canadian working group and a grant from SSHRC, the discussion paper is entitled "Renewing Scholarly Associations: Knowledge Networks and the Next Generation."
The Report features survey data from scholarly associations:
- historical information on their development,
- international comparisons and original research on their roles, responsibilities and challenges,
- models for scholarly organization, and
- a best practices manual for scholarly associations in Canada.
