What is Congress?

The Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences brings scholars, researchers, policy-makers and practitioners together to present findings, exchange ideas and build partnerships. Truly a “meeting of meetings”, Congress typically spans eight days, houses nearly 70 scholarly association meetings and attracts an average of 6,000 attendees.
The Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences organizes Congress, in partnership with a different host university each year.

To leverage Canada’s single largest gathering of scholars from across disciplines, CFHSS provides programming open to all delegates, academics and non-academic audiences alike, including Big Thinking lectures, roundtables, policy dialogues, and career and professional development workshops.
