METROPOLIS
What is Metropolis?
Metropolis is an international network for comparative research and public policy development on migration, diversity, and immigrant integration in cities in Canada and around the world.
Research Priorities
For this phase of the project the six federal policy-research priorities that focus the research and the knowledge transfer activities of the network are:
- Citizenship and social, cultural and civic integration
- Economic and labour market integration
- Family, children and youth
- Housing and neighbourhoods
- Justice, policing and security
- Welcoming communities: The role of host communities in attracting, integrating and retaining newcomers and minorities.
The priorities are the central organizing feature of both the Centres' research efforts and the knowledge transfer activities of Metropolis as a whole.
Metropolis and Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences
Metropolis will feature work in each of its six priority areas at various sessions during Congress.
